Are there advantages to a Digital Chip Player versus a consumer-grade CD player?
Since consumer electronics are not meant to run 24/7, we recommend a high quality digital playback system. You'll benefit from the reliability of the easy-to-use players we have chosen to offer. The very affordable 5000-D player loads sound from a CD. We will urge you to try the Messager USB or the Pro Digital USB 60 mp3 players. These are fantastic players that use a thumb drive to play mp3 files. They sound great, don't cost any more, and allow easy loading of new messages. Best of all, there's no laser or moving parts as in the CD load type.
CD Player:
Consumer-grade CD players are not made to run non-stop. Eventually, your CD player will stop working. Warranties for consumer audio products add cost to your purchase. If you decide to use a CD player, it's best to keep the player in a visible area, where operation can be monitored. This way, you'll know if the player stops due to a power interruption, or when the moving parts finally wear out.
Digital Chip Player:
If there is any chance of an interruption in power at your site, a digital chip player is your best choice. When a CD player loses power, it stays off until manually restarted. A Digital Chip Player is more of a set it and forget it system. For reliability and ease of use, you can't do better than a Digital Chip Player. Our players include a 3-year warranty at no extra charge. View and learn about music on hold digital professional players.
Often when I'm on hold at other companies, I hear a radio station. Is this legal?
Actually, no. Any unauthorized use of music for the benefit of your business is not allowed by law. The music licensed to radio stations is intended for a single broadcast, and on-hold and in-store re-broadcasts are not covered. You can find more information on this from the major licensing organizations, ASCAP and BMI. The best reason for not using radio on-hold is that you lose all control over content. Your competitor may be running ads, the station may go off-tune, or news items and song lyrics can be undesirable. Take control of what your callers hear!
When a caller is placed on hold, will they hear the beginning of the message?
Unless you are loading your audio into a proprietary system, music on hold messages are played continuously, so callers will hear a different part of the message each time they call and are on-hold.
I see you make CD productions. Can you make cassette tape productions as well?
Yes. A cassette tape option is available at no extra charge.
Do you have production samples of other businesses like mine that I can listen to?
